Yes, it's true - The Raymore Peculiar School District has significantly
increased the fees to use the District's facilities. HOWEVER, The
Swarm intends to keep our club fee (player fees) in line with last
season's fees. We have several options and we will keep you updated.
The Southside Swarm Volleyball Club was included in the April 10th
edition of The Journal news paper - in the Sports Section. Check out
The Swarm In The News for a complete listing of articles this season.
The end of the season is here. Have you thought about what you will
do with your Swarm jerseys? The Swarm is willing to "buy back" your
jerseys. The Swarm will pay $10 for the pair - but you must turn in the
Gold and the Black Jerseys to get the $10. This only applies to the
replacement jerseys. Any remaining "original" jerseys must be turned
in.
The Swarm 12-1 Juniors finished 1st in Pool play at 7-1 and ended up
2nd out of ten teams overall on Sunday at The Sunflower Slam. Coach
Lind stated "Once again the team continues to improve and work
together making incredible strides towards being a fundamentally
sound volleyball machine. Overall for the day Haleigh Schroeder, aka
"G", made 34 of 36 serves for an amazing 94%, Sarah Perfect made 35
for 39 with 90 % and Leah Nigh made 34 for 41 at 83%. Overall the
team made 191 serves of 222 for 86%, at this level these are
incredible statistics! Khiala Tyson had some crucial blocks and kills
that afforded us the breaks we needed on defense. Paige Dosch as
always leads the team as captain and had some unbelievable
defensive saves." Great job girls. We are proud of you!
The Swarm 13-1 Juniors finished 2nd Sunday at The Topeka
Sportzone March Madness Volleyball Tournament. What a day! Coach
Miles stated "The girls did an excellent job this weekend. They played
with heart and great attitudes. They fought hard against Southwind
Tribe in the championship game. We lost 23-25 in a heart breaking
game. Kaitlyn Heman stepped in this weekend as setter. Her setting
allowed Rachel Price and Taylor Ebeling to make several awesome
attacks. Abby Fulk had several phenomenal blocks against the Tribe.
Tori Hodge made 29 of 33 serves. Their hard work was evident this
weekend. I am really proud of them."
The Swarm has an AirCAT! The new device was debuted on Friday at
Practice. Check out the pictures on the Equipment page and the home
page.
Be sure to read about BVAC Tournament Director - Becky Elkins. If you
have been involved in club volleyball anytime over the past several
years chances are your team has played at the Family Life Center in
Independence, MO. All Swarm teams play there at least once or twice
each season and it's always an enjoyable day. However, we are in
danger of losing the use of the Family Life Center. Read more............

The Southside Swarm is a competitive volleyball club based in the
southern Lee's Summit, Raymore, Missouri areas. We are a member of
the Heart of America (HOA) chapter of USA Volleyball.
Be sure to read the article from USA Volleyball regarding ankle injuries.
Attitude is EVERYTHING! All players and parents should note that we
are a club and a team both on and off the court. Be sure to always have
a positive attitude and support your club/team mates. Remember, you
represent the club at practice, tournaments AND at school. Set a good
example and make us proud!
Parents - The Swarm has created this resource directory for you to
advertise your business or services. Club families are encouraged to
support those businesses that are involved with The Swarm. To get
your information posted, please send an email to The Swarm with your
business name, a brief description, phone number(s), email address
and a logo (optional - gif or jpeg format). It's free!
Important note - several players are still not wearing ankle protection.
We strongly advise you wear some type of ankle protection AT ALL
TIMES when playing volleyball. An injury can happen at any time and
it could end your season prematurely. Also, the best way to get used to
the additional gear is to wear it and practice in it.
