When Swarm teams win or place (Medal) in a tournament, please
be sure to take a team picture of the players and coaches with
their medals. The pictures are published on the Swarm website
and must be sent to the local news papers  before end of day on
Monday to meet their deadline. Pictures and other details should
be sent to Chris Heman at chirs@southsideswarmvbc.com. One
note – please do not cut off the players feet! I can crop the
pictures as needed.

Jerseys
Your jerseys are for tournaments ONLY. Do NOT wear your
jerseys to practice or school.

Jersey Care Instructions – Asics Jerseys are made with a
moisture-absorbent material and require special handling. Jerseys
should be hand washed (or washed on delicate cycle) in cold
water. DO NOT use fabric softener or bleach. Air dry - DO NOT
put the jersey in a clothes dryer - THEY WILL SHRINK and the
graphics will fade!

Jersey Care Instructions are available on the Swarm website.

Performance Training
For those Swarm players that participate in Performance Training
with BodyTemple fitness – The Swarm has made every attempt
to maximize the opportunity and availability for performance
training. If you miss a performance training session due to a
tournament  conflict, you may make up that missed session by
attending a session on another night at the church gym. All
performance training sessions are listed on the Swarm practice
schedule on the website. Please notify us prior to attending an
alternate session. Sessions cancelled due to gym or instructor
availability will be made up at the end of the season.

Hotels – Colorado Cross Roads National Qualifier
Tournament
For those teams playing in the Roads National Qualifier
Tournament in Colorado Springs, CO  - the Swarm is working on
a block of rooms for tournament.  The tournament is a “Stay to
Play” tournament and we must reserve a block of rooms at an
approved hotel before our tournament entries will be accepted.
Watch the Swarm website and email over the next few days for
more info and signup instructions.

Fundraising updates:
Trash bags - Several Swarm players are selling trash bags. Good news - I
have distributed about half of our supply, but we just received another delivery.
To pick them up, we can meet you at the church, or we can make other
arrangements as needed. At $3 profit for each roll sold, the trash bag sales  are
a wonderful and easy way to raise money. Remember, the $3 profit for each roll
sold goes towards that player’s individual 2011-12 club fee. I have attached a
copy of the trash bag sales order sheet.

Leave something at the gym - check out the LOST AND FOUND link on the
Swarm home page.

A printable version of each team's tournament schedule is available on the
team's tournament page.

The Southside Swarm is a  competitive volleyball club based in the southern
Lee's Summit, Raymore, Missouri areas. We are a member of the Heart of
America (HOA) chapter of USA Volleyball.

Be sure to read the article from USA Volleyball regarding ankle injuries.

Attitude is EVERYTHING! All players and parents should note that we are a
club and a team both on and off the court. Be sure to always have a positive
attitude and support your club/team mates. Remember, you represent the club
at practice, tournaments AND at school. Set a good example and make us
proud!

Parents - The Swarm has created this resource directory for you to advertise
your business or services. Club families are encouraged to support those
businesses that are involved with The Swarm. To get your information posted,
please send an
email to The Swarm with your business name, a brief
description, phone number(s), email address and a logo (optional - gif or jpeg
format). It's free!

Important note - several players are still not wearing ankle protection with their
school team. We strongly advise you wear some type of ankle protection AT
ALL TIMES when playing volleyball. An injury can happen at any time and it
could end your season prematurely. Also, the best way to get used to the
additional gear is to wear it and practice in it.
