My name is Scott Stone. I am married to Rachel Stone and we have two children,
Brooke, 10, and Brayden, 5. We are both employed with the Lee’s Summit School
District as teachers.
I began my volleyball coaching career with Lee’s Summit High School in 2001 in
which I coached the 9th grade volleyball team for two years, 2001-02 through the
2002-03 seasons. During this time, I also coached for the 11’s Tiger Juniors club
volleyball program which was led by former LSHS varsity coach, Mark Rice.
Once I began my teaching career as an Industrial Technology teacher at Bernard
Campbell Middle School in Lee’s Summit, MO. in 2004, I also became a part of the
8th grade volleyball program, coaching with Jennifer Morgan for six years.
My next goal was to begin coaching my own daughter in the sport in the club
arena. My wife and I took on a group of nine girls over the last two years and
established our own club team, with the goal for the players to learn the
fundamentals of the sport. We coached this group in the HOA 10’s and HOA 11’s
level.
I enjoy working with the younger age group of girls in the sport of volleyball. I
believe in drilling them with the fundamentals so they are successful in their future
with the sport. I believe that in working with the younger age group that this is
where they learn the game and the fundamentals necessary for success.
